Over the past recession-infused decade, companies have focused more of their priorities in avoiding layoffs. While the lucky remaining employees are grateful for being able to keep their jobs, morale may be lower as a result companies’ inability to repay them for their hard work. According to Nancy Mann Jackson, journalist for Entrepreneur.com, a great way to boost morale among employees is to find more creative (and less expensive!) ways to thank them for their hard work.
