Social media has a great deal of benefits that it can provide in the workplace, but it can have the opposite effect as well; causing you to lose out of a potential new job, or even get fired from a current one.  The article, “Can Social Media Get You Fired?,” by Elizabeth Garone outlines the dangers of sharing too much on social media; stating “One in 10 job seekers between the ages of 16 and 34 have been rejected for a job because of something posted on their profiles.”  Elizabeth advises to ask yourself, “would I want my grandmother to see this?,” and if the answer is no, it should probably be kept private.
