How to Differentiate the Best Employees From Average Employees

The employees that make the biggest impact on your company have common qualities that can differentiate them from the rest of your employees.  According to Jeff Haden, of, these eight qualities include:

  • Having the intuition to know when to offer assistance outside of their job description
  • Not being afraid to stray outside the norm
  • Being able to outwardly acknowledge the good efforts of others
  • Keeping dis-satisfactions private or discuss them in a smaller meeting rather than in a large group
  • Not being afraid to speak when others are hesitant to
  • An enjoyment of proving their worth despite the doubt of others
  • A hunger for improving the process rather than being satisfied with the established norm
