Reflections on the Holiday Season

Regardless of what holiday you are celebrating, this time of the year is cherished by just about everyone.  Here are Rowland Mountain & Associates’s favorite things about this time of the year– Enjoy the serious and humorous messages!
Tricia Mountain: I do not have one favorite thing about this time of the year– I love everything about Christmas!  The music, decorations, shopping, parties, food, time with family and friends, children opening presents, quiet time with my husband and a little R&R.  Most important to me is time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Russ Mountain:  Few opportunities like Christmas where it’s appropriate to live outwardly
like a child as an adult…One can eat all the Sweets they want and NOBODY says anything ie: cookies, candies, chocolate covered pretzels, fudge, you name it.  Parties:  More good food including sweets, and all you can drink.  FOOTBALL– I think it’s in the bible, “Man cannot live on beer alone… he must have spots TV!”
Wes Washington:  My favorite thing about this time of year is the time spent with my young family.  This is the first Christmas my oldest child is able to enjoy and interact with his cousins and extended family.  It has been a lot of fun seeing him playing with my nieces and nephews.
Katie Owens:  To me, there is something magical about this time of year.  I could never choose just one favorite thing so I’ve narrowed it to the top 10.  J First and foremost is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.  Honorable mentions go to the following: Family gatherings, Christmas music, decorating the tree, shopping, great food, going to Christmas Eve Midnight Services, hearing little kids talk about Santa, celebrating the new year, and who doesn’t love a short work week.  Merry Christmas!
Dan Barna: My favorite thing is being around family!  In our expanding lives, it is rare to have your entire family together on one day.  The Christmas season is one exception.
Jessica Brown:  My favorite thing about this time of year is all the small things that bring joy.  They remind me to slow down, take in the little blessings throughout the year, and to remember the true Source of Joy.
Edward Missinne:  I am a very conservative person when it comes to spending money.  However, during the holidays, I give myself a free pass to buy gifts for the family.  It’s a lot of fun getting things for people, and although by January 1 my bank statement dictates otherwise, I think my efforts and investments are well worth the cost.
Martelle Warner:  I love the challenge of trying to find the perfect gift for someone that reflects how much they mean to you.  I also love the time spent with family and bonding with them.
Christopher Luke:  What I love most about this time of the year is putting up the Christmas tree and all of the ornaments and lights.  The other day I went by my parent’s house, and my family had put the lights up outside.  We have had these “singing” Christmas lights for years, and it is pretty nice walking up to the front door listening to that music!
Kim Rubin:  My favorite thing is seeing my daughter’s excitement opening her gifts and no school and homework. J
